The Powers of the Universe
Zero Higashida
Japan
Higashida’s stainless steel sculptures are both rough and gestural, asymmetrical and balanced. Surfaces are replete with ragged edges favouring a state of precarious equilibrium. Higashida tends to balance his energetic forms on beveled edges and sharp points, creating a sense of weightlessness and movement.
